Try Nexus without installing
You can look at Nexus with sample data before your own store has any data in it. Two options exist. This page helps you pick one.
Compare the options
| Public demo | Sample data during setup | |
|---|---|---|
| Where you start | A demo web page, outside Shopify Admin | Inside Nexus, in Shopify Admin |
| Do you install Nexus first? | No | Yes |
| Do you connect any data? | No | No. If your import runs, it keeps running in the background |
| What you see | A filled sample account for the industry you choose | A filled sample store for the industry you choose |
| Can you keep what you did? | You can turn the demo into your own account | No. You switch back to your own store |
| Available | Any time you open the demo page | While your store is still setting up or importing |
Option 1: the public demo
Choose this option if you have not installed Nexus and want to see it first.
You open the demo page, choose an industry and select Explore the demo. You do not need an account. When you like what you see, select Keep this account to set up your own workspace.
Read Try the public demo for the steps.
Option 2: sample data during setup
Choose this option if you already installed Nexus and your store is still setting up.
Your import needs time. You do not have to wait on a blank screen. Open the sample store picker, choose an industry and explore every page. A blue bar at the top of the page reminds you that you view sample data. When you are ready, select the button in the bar to return to your own store.
Read Demo Mode and sample data for the steps and the meaning of each bar.
What both options have in common
Both options show illustrative numbers, products and ads. They are not about your store. Treat the numbers as examples of what each page does, not as a forecast for your own results.
INFO
In both options, some actions are blocked. A notice at the bottom of the screen tells you why, and stays until you select the X at its right edge.
Next steps
When you are ready to use your own data:
- Install Nexus from Shopify, or return to your own store if you already did.
- Complete the setup. Install and first setup lists each step.
- Wait for your import to finish. While your data imports explains what you can do in the meantime.
