Integrations: connect your data sources

The Integrations page is where you link your ad accounts, analytics and review apps to Nexus. Open it from Settings > Integrations. In Shopify Admin, the page title reads Integrations Hub.

Problem and intended user

Each data source must be connected before Nexus can use it. Until a source is connected, the pages built on it can stay empty. A connection that expires or breaks without anyone noticing leaves those pages out of date. The ecommerce manager (the person who runs the store) and the media buyer (the person who runs your paid ads) rely on the result.

Current workflow

Without one place for connections, a merchant opens each tool on its own: Shopify admin, Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, GA4 and the review app's own dashboard. The merchant checks in each one that the account still works, and exports figures to a spreadsheet to compare them. Nobody sees all the connections in one list.

Prerequisites

  • Install Nexus from Shopify.
  • Have an account in each tool you want to connect. The guide for each integration lists what it needs.

How Nexus works

Nexus reads data from the sources you connect. It reads your store data through the Shopify app you installed. For the other sources, it uses the sign-in or the keys you give it. Fixed checks set each status badge. AI does not set them.

Each connection starts with you. For Meta Ads and Google Ads, you approve access in the provider's own sign-in window, or you enter a token or a service account key. Pages that need a source can stay empty until you connect it.

Connect an integration

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations.
  2. Pick a category on the left to filter the cards, or stay on All.
  3. Click the card for the integration. Its dialog opens.
  4. Follow the guide for that integration.

Settings > Store Status shows when Nexus last ran the data jobs for your connected sources. See Store Status.

Check the Shopify connection

Nexus reads your store data through the Shopify app you installed. There is nothing to configure.

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations.
  2. Click the Shopify card.

Replace a saved key

Nexus never shows a saved key back to you. To replace a key, enter the new value in the integration dialog and save again. For Meta Ads and Google Ads, disconnect and connect again.

Exact output

The Integrations page

The page is headed Connect your ecosystem. Each integration is a card. Click a card to open its dialog.

The category list on the left filters the cards. Each category shows a count.

Status badges

Each card shows a badge on the right.

BadgeMeaning
NOT CONNECTEDYou have not connected this integration yet.
CONNECTEDNexus can reach the integration.
DISCONNECTEDYou connected this integration before, and the connection is now removed.
ERRORThe connection exists, but it expired or failed its health check. Open the card to check or reconnect.

No badge shows while Nexus checks a connection. CSV Import uses IMPORTED and NOT IMPORTED instead.

A review app that is already installed on your store shows Detected on store. Click the card to enter its credentials.

When Meta Ads is connected, its card also shows amber warnings, such as No ad account selected, No page connected and No pixel connected. Each one means a setup step is still open.

The Shopify dialog

The dialog shows:

  • Connected or Disconnected, with a short message.
  • Connected store: the address of your store.
  • Granted permissions: Read Products, Read Orders, Read Customers and Read Analytics.

The list in the dialog is short and does not show every permission that Nexus holds. The dialog only shows information. It has no controls. For the full list of permissions and how Nexus uses your data, see Data and permissions.

Expected value and measurement

This page can help you see every connection in one list, and spot a broken one before the pages that depend on it go stale.

To check it, open Settings > Integrations and select All. Every source you rely on should show CONNECTED, and the Meta Ads card should show no amber warning. Then open the page that uses the source. For ad data, open Performance > Ad performance and read the status bar for the last sync.

A CONNECTED badge says that Nexus can reach the source. It does not say that the data is complete.

Limitations and exceptions

  • Saved keys. Nexus never shows a saved key back to you. Enter a new value to replace it.
  • Badges. No badge shows while Nexus checks a connection.
  • Shopify. The Shopify dialog only shows information. It has no controls. If it says Disconnected, reinstall the Nexus app from Shopify Admin.
  • Demo Mode. Nexus blocks connecting and disconnecting a real integration, and shows a message such as Disable demo mode to connect real integrations.

Nexus is built by Omniconvert.
