Creative Batches: track every batch of generated images

Creative Batches lists every batch of images that Nexus has generated for your store. Open it from Create > Creative Batches.

Problem and intended user

The creative strategist (the person who plans and makes ad creatives) starts many batches for the same products and angles. After a few weeks, nobody remembers which batch holds which images, or which one broke. The ecommerce manager (the person who runs the store) asks the same about what has been made so far. Good images get lost and failed batches go unnoticed.

Current workflow

Without Nexus, the creative strategist keeps a spreadsheet or a shared folder of image files from a design tool or an agency. Files get names by hand, and a note records which version went into a campaign in Meta Ads Manager or Google Ads. The list is only as current as the last edit.

Prerequisites

  • At least one batch exists. A batch is one run of the Creative Wizard, or one Create similar ad run. Until then, the page shows an empty state.
  • To start a batch, your Shopify product catalog must be synced. See Generate a creative batch.
  • Viewing the list uses no credits. Generating a Creative Wizard batch does not use your credits, but limits apply.

How Nexus works

Nexus records every Creative Wizard run and every Create similar ad run for your store, and this page lists them. Fixed rules produce the list, the counts and the status. AI image models make the images inside each batch, but no AI writes anything on this page.

The page header starts with "Every creative batch for this store." A Generate Batch button sits at the top right. A count such as "12 total" sits beside it. The list refreshes by itself while you keep it open, so a batch moves from Running to Completed without a reload.

Nothing reaches Studio until you choose Use selected on its images.

Filter by type

Use Type to choose which batches you see.

  • All: every batch.
  • Similar ads: batches that started from Create similar ad.
  • Creative Wizard: batches that started from Generate Batch.

The total count and the pages follow the filter. When there are many batches, Previous and Next appear below the table.

Open a batch

Select the batch name.

  • A Creative Wizard batch opens in the wizard, where you review and use its images.
  • A similar-ad batch opens on its own page.

To review the images and decide which to keep, see Review and use batch results.

Rename a batch

Give batches of the same angle names that tell them apart.

  1. Point to a batch name. A pencil icon appears. You can also tab to it with the keyboard.
  2. Select the pencil. The name becomes a text box.
  3. Type the new name, for example "v3, colder lighting".
  4. Press Enter or select the check icon to save. Press Escape or select the cross icon to cancel.

To remove a name, save an empty text box. The batch goes back to its default name.

Open a batch in Studio

When a batch has creatives in Studio, See in Studio shows an Open link. Select it. Studio opens in a new tab and shows only the creatives from that batch. The Studio filter then reads Batch and a short code. Open it and choose All batches to see every creative again.

A dash means the batch has no creatives in Studio yet. Select Use selected on its images to add some. See Review and use batch results.

Exact output

One table, with a row per batch, newest first.

Table columns

ColumnWhat it shows
BatchThe batch name. A batch you have not renamed takes the name of its angle. A batch built from a job, or from a similar ad, takes the name of its product. If you rename a batch, the angle or product stays visible under the new name.
TypeCreative Wizard or Similar ad.
ProductThe product the batch is about.
ImagesThe images that worked, then the images requested. 6/8 means 6 of 8 images succeeded.
StatusWhere the batch is. See the next section.
StartedThe date the batch began.
See in StudioA link to the batch's creatives in Studio.

A batch that the setup wizard started for you shows (Onboarding) after its name.

On a narrow screen, the Type, Product and Started columns are hidden.

Statuses

StatusWhat it means
CompletedThe batch finished. Review its images.
RunningNexus is still generating images. The page updates when the batch finishes.
FailedThe batch finished with no usable images.
StalledThe batch stopped responding before it finished. Start a new batch.
Needs attentionNexus could not confirm the result of an image and does not retry it on its own. Do not retry that image. Contact support.

Failed, Stalled and Needs attention show in red because you may need to act. If you are unsure, see Contact support.

Expected value and measurement

One list can help you find a batch, see what has been made and spot batches that need action.

To check, read the Images column, such as 6/8, and look for Failed, Stalled and Needs attention rows in the Status column.

This page does not compare a batch with the ads made from it. To see how those ads perform, open Performance > Ad performance and read You spent and Platform-reported revenue for them. You cannot isolate the effect of one batch when other creative, budget or audience changes ran at the same time.

Limitations and exceptions

  • The list covers this store only.
  • AI image models make the images. They can contain errors, so review each image before you use it.
  • A batch row shows Product no longer exists or Angle no longer exists when the product or angle was deleted after the batch ran. The row still opens.
  • While the page loads, it reads "Loading runs…". If the list does not load, it reads "The run list could not be loaded." Reload the page, or contact support if it keeps failing.

When the list is empty

A store with no batches sees No batches yet. The page offers three ways to make one:

  • Generate Batch
  • Browse competitor ads
  • Browse your ads

When you filter by one type and none exist, you see No Creative Wizard batches yet or No similar ad batches yet. The first offers Generate Batch. The second offers Browse competitor ads and Browse your ads. If the store has batches of the other type, a Show all batches link takes you back to the full list.

Demo Mode

In Demo Mode, renaming is blocked. A red notice reads "Disable demo mode to rename a Creative Wizard run".
