Home: Store, Ads and Creative overviews

Home is the first item in the Nexus menu. It shows one of three dashboards, each built for a role: Store overview, Ads overview and Creative overview. All three share one layout, so you learn it once.

Problem and intended user

The ecommerce manager (the person who runs the store) needs one place to see how the store is doing. The media buyer (the person who runs your paid ads) and the creative strategist (the person who plans and makes ad creatives) each need different numbers. When everyone opens the same screen, each person digs for their own figures, and a change that matters to one role can go unseen.

Current workflow

Each role builds its own view. One person keeps a spreadsheet tab for store figures from Shopify admin reports. Another bookmarks Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads screens. A third checks GA4 or a design tool. Someone must refresh every view, and the views can drift apart.

Prerequisites

  • Store setup. Home needs your store data. Complete the setup wizard first.
  • Ad account. The ad and creative numbers also need a connected ad account.
  • Persona. Optional. You pick your persona in the setup wizard, in the question about your role. Home uses it to choose the dashboard it opens for you. Without one, Home opens Store overview. Your persona can also change later under Settings > General > Team.

A card tells you when its source has no data yet. Customize KPI cards lists those messages.

How Nexus works

Nexus reads your store, ad and creative data. It builds the KPI cards and the Yesterday summary from that data without AI. The findings are insights Nexus already produced for your store, each with a recommended next step. Home only lists them. No approval is needed to show a dashboard.

How Home picks your dashboard

When you click Home, Nexus opens the dashboard that matches your persona. An Owner or an Admin changes the persona of another member under Settings > General > Team. Your own row has no persona control, and neither has the Owner row. See Team and roles.

Switch dashboards

Your persona decides where Home opens. You can open all three dashboards from the tabs.

  1. Open Home.
  2. Find the three tabs on the right of the greeting row.
  3. Click Ecommerce manager, Media buyer or Creative strategist.

The tab for your own dashboard carries the tag Yours. The tag marks where Home opens for you. It stays on that tab while you view another one.

The date picker

The date picker at the top of the page changes the Your KPIs cards only. The Yesterday card and the findings ignore it. The picker starts on Last 30 days. After you pick another range, Nexus remembers it on your other pages. The picker has no compare option and no granularity option.

Exact output

The layout is the same on all three dashboards, top to bottom.

What every dashboard shows

  1. Greeting. Nexus greets you by first name: "Good morning" before noon, "Good afternoon" until 6 pm, "Good evening" after. It uses your local time. Without a name on file, Nexus leaves the name out.
  2. Yesterday. A short summary of the last full day. See Yesterday and Lucrative findings.
  3. Your KPIs. Up to eight KPI cards. You choose the cards and set targets. See Customize KPI cards.
  4. Lucrative findings. Findings Nexus detected for your role, each with a recommended next step.

A finding card

Each card under Lucrative findings shows a category such as Retention or Creative, a source count, a New badge on a new finding, a title, an estimated impact, a summary and a recommended next step. It has a main action button, See ad details when the finding names an ad, and Dismiss. On Home, Dismiss has no undo. With several findings, See all (followed by the number of open findings) and Show fewer switch between a strip and a grid.

Default KPI cards

Each dashboard opens with eight cards. You can replace any of them.

Revenue, Orders, AOV, Active customers and Purchase frequency count only orders that your store has marked as delivered. The Orders tooltip says "placed" and does not mention delivery. Understanding your numbers explains the difference between pages.

The Glossary defines each term. Understanding your numbers explains how to read them.

Expected value and measurement

Home can help each role start from the numbers that matter to it and notice a change. It does not change your results. The actions you take do.

To check a metric, open Home > Store overview, Home > Ads overview or Home > Creative overview. Pick a range in the date picker. Read each card against the previous period. Ad numbers also appear on Performance > Ad performance. Nexus has no page that measures how often you use Home or how fast you react. If you change ads, prices or promotions in the same period, you cannot isolate the effect of Home.

Limitations and exceptions

  • Findings are suggestions. An estimated impact is an estimate. A recommended next step can be wrong for your store. Check both before you act.

If a dashboard looks empty

A dashboard cannot show what Nexus has not imported yet. Each section handles this by itself:

  • A KPI card shows a short message that names the missing source.
  • The Yesterday card says that no orders or sessions were recorded.
  • The findings section reads "You have cleared every finding. New ones appear here as the store keeps trading." until Nexus has findings for your role.

While your order history imports, check While your data imports.

Demo Mode

In Demo Mode, a Sample data badge appears under the greeting row and the numbers are sample numbers. See Demo Mode and sample data.

Nexus is built by Omniconvert.
