Saved ad folders: sort the ads you keep
Saved ad folders sort the ads you keep in the Inspiration Library. Open them from the Saved ads tab, where a panel lists your folders.
Problem and intended user
A creative strategist (the person who plans and makes ad creatives) saves ads for many ideas at once: an offer, a hook, a format, a season. In one long list the right reference is hard to find when a brief starts, and a teammate cannot tell why an ad was kept.
Current workflow
Today you sort saved ads by hand. You keep links and screenshots in a spreadsheet, a board or folders on a shared drive, and you update that structure each time you find a new ad.
Prerequisites
You need at least one saved ad. Save an ad with Save ad on any card in the Inspiration Library. See Inspiration Library.
How Nexus works
Folders belong to your store, so everyone who uses the store sees the same folders. A saved ad sits in one folder at a time. Nexus files a new save in Unfiled, and saving an ad again keeps the folder it is in. You file and move ads by hand. Fixed rules count the ads, and no AI is involved.
Create a folder
- Open Saved ads.
- Click New folder in the folder panel.
- Type a name and click Create.
To make a subfolder, click New subfolder on an existing folder instead.
Two folders in the same place cannot share a name, even when only the capital letters differ. Folders nest up to 3 levels deep, a name is 1 to 60 characters, and a store can have up to 100 folders. When you reach the folder limit, the panel says "You’ve reached the limit of 100 folders." New folder turns off and New subfolder disappears until you delete a folder.
File an ad
- Click Move to folder on a saved ad.
- Pick a folder. The folder the ad is in now is marked Current. Pick Unfiled to take the ad out of its folder.
- Click Move.
To make a new folder in the same dialog, click New folder. Nexus creates it inside the folder you picked, beside it when the folder you picked is at the deepest level, or at the top level when you picked Unfiled.
List one folder
Click a folder in the panel to list only the ads filed directly in it. Click All saved to list every saved ad, or Unfiled for the ads in no folder. Search, sort and filters work as in the other tabs.
Rename or delete a folder
Each folder in the panel has three icon buttons: Rename, New subfolder and Delete. They show only when you can edit saved ads. New subfolder is missing on a folder at the deepest level, and once you reach the folder limit. Delete opens a dialog with Cancel and Delete folder.
WARNING
Deleting a folder also deletes its subfolders. Their ads are not deleted: they move to Unfiled. The confirmation says how many ads move.
Exact output
The panel lists All saved, Unfiled and your folders, with subfolders under their folder. The number next to a name counts the saved ads in it. The number next to All saved matches the number on the Saved ads tab. On a narrow screen the panel becomes a Folders section above the ads. It is closed until you open it, and it shows the name of the folder you picked.
What to do with it
| What you see | Decision or action | Owner |
|---|---|---|
| A long list of saved ads | Create a folder for each idea you plan to brief, then file the ads. | creative strategist |
| Ads in Unfiled | Review them and move each to a folder, or remove the ones you no longer need. | creative strategist |
| A folder that holds many ads | Split it into subfolders. | creative strategist |
| A finished idea | Delete its folder when you no longer need it. Its ads move to Unfiled. | creative strategist |
Expected value and measurement
Folders can help you find a reference when a brief starts. They do not change ad results.
To check, open a folder before your next brief and see whether it holds the references you need. The number next to Unfiled shows how many saved ads still have no home.
Limitations and exceptions
- A folder lists the ads filed directly in it. It does not list the ads of its subfolders.
- A saved ad sits in one folder at a time.
- A saved ad whose brand you no longer follow leaves the list and the counts. Nexus keeps the save and the folder it is in.
- Deleting a folder cannot be undone.

Demo Mode
In Demo Mode, the folders are sample folders. You can open them and list their ads. Nexus refuses creating, renaming, deleting and filing, and tells you so. See Demo Mode and sample data.
