Share a Creative Set with a link

A share link lets a person outside your team view a Creative Set. The person needs no Nexus account and no login. You create the link in the Studio editor.

Problem and intended user

A creative strategist (the person who plans and makes ad creatives) or an ecommerce manager (the person who runs the store) often needs a quick opinion on a creative from someone who has no Nexus account, such as an agency or a freelancer. Without a simple way to show the work, the opinion can come back on an out-of-date version.

A share link helps you show the current version of a Creative Set to that person.

Current workflow

Without a share link, the creative strategist exports images from a design tool, attaches them to an email or a chat message, or uploads them to a shared folder. Each new version is a new file, and the reviewer may open an older one. Feedback comes back in a separate thread and someone matches it to the right file by hand.

Prerequisites

How Nexus works

Nexus creates a web address for one Creative Set. Fixed rules decide whether the link is Active, Expired or Revoked. No AI is involved.

You decide when to create a link, how long it lasts and when to revoke it. Nexus sends nothing for you. You copy the link and send it yourself.

WARNING

Anyone who has the link can open the page until it expires or you revoke it. Send it only to people you trust.

  1. Open the Set in the editor.
  2. Select More actions and then Share. The Share links dialog opens.
  3. Choose a value for Expires in: 1 day, 7 days or 30 days. The default is 7 days.
  4. Select Create link.

Select Copy on an Active row. The button reads Copied✓ for a moment. Paste the link into your message. If your browser blocks copying, select the link text and copy it by hand.

Revoke a link when you sent it by mistake or no longer need it.

  1. Select Revoke on an Active row.
  2. Select Confirm revoke. Select Cancel to keep the link.

A revoked link stops working at once. It stays in the list with the Revoked state. An expired link also stays in the list. Neither row has Copy or Revoke.

To share again, create a new link.

Exact output

The output has two parts: the Share links dialog that you use, and the read-only page that the other person sees.

The new link appears in the list. Each row shows:

ItemMeaning
StateActive, Expired or Revoked.
LinkThe full address of the page.
DetailsThe date you created the link, and the date it expires or the date you revoked it.

What the person sees

The link opens a read-only page. It always uses the light theme, whatever your Nexus theme is. The page shows:

  • The Set name.
  • A status badge, the ad format and the line "Expires" with the date.
  • The number of designs and their sizes.

The page has no buttons that change the Set. A footer says "Read-only share. Ask the sender for an updated link if anything looks off."

The page shows the images only when the status badge reads published. When the badge reads anything else, the page shows a Draft Set banner that says the Set is still in draft. The page reads the Set when the person opens the link, so a later change to the Set shows on the next visit. The expiry date does not change. Open the link in a private window before you send it, so you know what the person sees.

Expected value and measurement

A share link can help you get a review from a person outside your team without exporting files or giving anyone a login.

To check whether sharing helps you, count how many rounds of feedback a shared creative needs before you create the ad, and compare that with a creative you did not share. Keep the count in your own notes. A different reviewer or a different creative also changes the result, so you cannot isolate the effect of the link.

Limitations and exceptions

  • Anyone who has the link can view the page. Nexus does not ask the person to sign in.
  • The page is read-only. The person cannot comment or edit.
  • A link ends at the expiry you chose, or when you revoke it. A revoked link cannot be turned on again. Create a new link.
  • If your browser blocks copying, the dialog says "Couldn’t copy to clipboard. Select the URL and copy manually." Select the link text and copy it by hand.
  • If a link cannot be created or revoked, the dialog shows an error message, such as "Failed to create share link" or "Failed to revoke link". Try again.

An invalid, expired or revoked link shows "Link not found". The page does not say which of the three reasons applies. Ask the sender for a new link.

If your own link stops working, check its state in the Share links dialog.

With no links, the dialog says "No share links yet. Create one above to share this Set with someone outside the team." Select Create link to make one.
